The key goal of the center for Molecular and Cellular Research with medical Applications is to catalyze novel, high-quality and collaborative interdisciplinary research on mechanisms of diseases through the use of high technologies in modern core facilities. Through an integrated multidisciplinary approach, the CCMR organizes advanced molecular, cellular and genetic strategies to address important questions on the impact of human disease. Research within the CCMR emphasizes studies on the mechanism(s) by which different types of human diseases such as infectious, genetics, metabolic and malignant disease occurs. The CCMR maintains an active Community to receive input from clinicians, and disseminate results of pure and applied sciences to them, i.e. translational researches. The CCMR is composed of several projects that bring basic, clinical, and population scientists together in an effort to convert mechanistic research into an effective understanding of disease etiology and progression, as well as prevention and treatment. The Pilot Project Projects enhances the growth and scope of research activities and promotes interdisciplinary/translational collaborations. To realize the objectives, the Center has developed five Research lab\facilities and a bioinformatics\computational research lab. In addition, several satellite research and educational labs are in close collaboration with CCMR. The CCMR is located in the Faculty of Medicine, Urmia University of Medical sciences, which also administers an interdisciplinary graduate program offering M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Biochemistry, Parasitology and epidemiology. Financially, deputy of Research, Urmia University of Medical Sciences, grants it. Dr. Siamak Salami (Ph.D.) serves as the Director of CCMR, under supervision of Vice Chancellor for Research, Dr. Morteza Motazaker (M.D., Ph.D.) Membership of the CCMR is campus wide and includes various Faculties, Departments, and Hospitals. CCRM appreciates execution of joint research projects in various fields of medicine or related sciences as strategic national or international alliance. |
